PREPARDNESS ENRICHMENT HIGHLIGHTS

We had a wonderful Prepardness Enrichment last week and wanted to highlight a few of the great tips that were shared!! If you would like the handouts that we given out that day contact Sister Pierson or Sister Memmott.

3 MONTH SUPPLY
Sister Pierson talked about getting a 3 Month Food Supply of
things your family eats on a daily or weekly basis and rotating it!!
She sat down with her family for Family Night and they helped her
decide what kinds of food they would eat, and what she should store!!
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!

-Here is her display table-

Brother Memmott gave some great ideas about Estate Planning and getting all of our affairs in order! His handout was excellent - WOW - there is so much to think about!!

FRUGAL LIVING TIPS

Sister Trendler talked about how to live frugal and gave us Hundred's of tips about how to save and cut costs!!

-Here are a few of her tips-

  • Plan ahead and organize your recipes - write down what you are goingto make for dinner on a calendar a week or a month ahead of time
  • Avoid prepackaged and prepared food
  • LIMIT the times you eat out - having a plan will help you avoid last minute eating out!
  • Have a year supply and use it on a daily basis - store things your family likes to eat.
  • Plant a garden
  • Use COUPONS - don't use your coupons until the item is on sale - a sale will usually follow during the life of the coupon.
  • Buy clothes at the end of the season for next year - you can't beat 75% off.
  • Shop Thrift Stores
  • Use a programmable thermostat.
  • Put a timer on your water heater.

This is just a handful of the ideas she talked about
